Winter weather can put a big damper on motivation, especially for those of us who enjoy running outdoors. But when I was training for my marathon, I learned quickly that cooler temps are much better for running. Now, let me preface that by saying that we are in Atlanta, GA. So I can’t speak to running in North Dakota, but I do know that you can’t let an under 50 degree day deter you! Once you get going, you’ll see that your body warms up and the cool, crisp air is refreshing.

Research is being done every day on how exercise can prevent and treat disease and symptoms of disease. Recently, I’ve seen several articles that specifically discuss the effects of exercise on different types of pain. It’s amazing, really, that from migraine pain, to leg pain, to even the pain of depression, exercise can be a very effective treatment.
